We have developed a whole line of surface refined cores that allow sensitive film producers to produce film that is useable right down to the core. Whether you manufacture building plastics, packaging film, food film, technical film, self adhesive, medical, extremely thin or special photo sensitive film, you can count on Paul & Co to supply cores that offer trouble free production and processing without contaminating the final product.

Paul & Co has a core for each purpose, and if not, we will customize one to match the exact customer's requirements.  Surface refined, humidity barrier, sticky stripes, driving slots, specially treated ends, metal ends, hot melt coated, axially or spirally - we will build a core to match your needs. Trouble free start up, high run ability and no film damage caused by spiral markings, results in film that is useable right down to the core. Compatibility with all the best processing/converting machinery means that producers of film can also use Paul & Co cores as a selling aid.

Standard Cores 
For many types of film, such as food packaging, stretch, construction and technical film. Even our standard cores are wound to produce an almost seamless surface.

GUK Cores
This core is our first step in surface preparation. Each layer of paper is beveled before glue is applied. This produces a core where every layer interlocks with the next, producing a core with no gap between the plys.  A fine solution for price sensitive customers.

PG P2000 Core
On this core we use a virgin P2000 paper on the outer layers to produce a clean contaminate free surface. After drying, the cores are ground and then trimmed to produce a smooth seamless core. Surface roughness averages 60 microns. This core is designed for thicker films that require a seamless surface. Will produce high quality film that is useable right down to the core.

PGG P2000 Core:
This core also uses virgin P2000 paper, but after drying, the core is first ground and then polished to produce a exceptionally smooth and seamless core. This core is designed for thin films that require a very smooth core surface. Will produce high quality thin film that is useable right down to the core.

NG Core:
This core is produced using a special Paul & Co exclusive extrusion process. The NG core sets industry standards for strength, roundness, bending deviation and roughness. The surface is tape proof and can be supplied with a very thin sprayed on glue strip that will not cause marks in sensitive film. This core is designed for sensitive films, such as high quality video and audio film, capacitor film and copper foil. Will produce excellent results right down to the core.
